Services

Convenience
Your pet may be dropped off for treatment or surgery at no extra charge. Daycare also is available-simply drop your pet off in the mornings on your way to work, and your pet can have a fun-filled day socializing and playing. This is excellent for puppies needing extra social time, or if you are working on a particular skill (such as potty-training). If you are unable to reach the clinic, house calls can be scheduled for your convenience. All pets must be current on vaccinations and parasite-free, or they will be treated at the owner's expense.

Treatment
Our goal is to prevent disease and improve your pet's quality of life through education. We strive to use the most current and effective diagnostic medicine and surgery. This includes referrals to specialists if necessary. However, we realize that each pet and client's situation is different and are always willing to answer your questions and treat your pet within your parameters. We are able to diagnose most conditions in the clinic using radiography, hematology and blood chemistry analyzers, chemistry test kits, blood gas monitors, ECG and eye pressure instruments. If you have difficulty medicating your pet, ask about having your pet's medicine flavored like fish, meat, or fruit by a compounding pharmacist-some medicines may even be able to be applied topically.

Surgery
Elective surgeries need to be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance. Your pet needs to have food withheld after 9:00 pm the night prior to surgery and should be clean and parasite-free. Allow your pet unrestricted access to water. For surgeries, please drop your pet off between 7:30 am and 9:00 am, and in most cases can be picked up between 4:00 pm and 5:30 pm. Some cases may require a longer stay.

Surgery involves a certain amount of risk. To minimize these risks, pre-surgical blood work, x-rays, and/or ECG are encouraged or may be required. We use the safest anesthetics-many of which are reversible. Isoflourane, the safest gas anesthetic available, is used to maintain your pet through surgery. The surgical technician monitors the patient’s expired carbon dioxide, blood oxygen level, and heart rate. Local and general pain relief is used pre and post-operatively to prevent patient discomfort. Dental patients are anesthetized while their teeth are cleaned, polished, and treated with fluoride.

Boarding
Our large runs and cages are climate-controlled. Cats are boarded in personal cat condos located in a large private sunroom. All pets are fed Science Diet® foods, but we are happy to feed any special foods or treats you may bring. Please label all treats and toys and we will be happy to make these available to your pets while they are here. Dogs are exercised outside 2-3 times daily, and are socialized throughout the day. Quilted mats are provided for your pet's comfort. Dogs boarded four days or more will receive a complimentary bath. Boarding pick-up is during normal business hours, but special arrangements can be made at the time of drop-off for alternate pick-up. All pets must be current on vaccinations and parasite-free. A 10% discount is available for extended boarding (more than 14 days). We welcome all small animals, including birds and other exotics. Bathing and grooming is available while your pet is with us.

Emergencies
Our phone is answered 24-hours a day. There is an after-hours emergency charge for patients seen after clinic hours. When transporting your injured pet, please use caution and make sure to contain your pet in a pet carrier or wrap him/her in a blanket or towel.

Payment
Payment is required at time of service unless special arrangements are made prior to treatment. Deposits may be required for surgery or extended treatments. We accept cash, checks, check card, MasterCard, Visa, and Discover Card, and CARE CREDIT Accepted.
