Dr. Ryan graduated with a BSA from the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville in 1983 and received his D.V.M. from Louisiana State University in 1987. Initially, he worked for a large animal practice in Claremore, Oklahoma, where he worked at several race tracks, breeding farms, and competition equine facilities. He then worked at a sizable small animal practice in Houston, Texas before moving to Jonesboro in 1991. He has been involved in numerous state and local organizations; is an active member in the Presbyterian Church; and supports all area humane societies. He is a licensed wildlife rehabilitator-caring for over 100 birds and other animals each year. He is an ardent supporter of his children in several activities and enjoys hiking, traveling, and fishing with his family.
